Honest Review

Double Review...

For this week honest review I will be doing something a little different toy the usual Honest Review, you'll get double. I hope this makes up for not having DIY Sunday!

The Akinator:
The Akinator, is an app that is both fun and controversial,  that peaked in it's popularity with the release of the free app. All the famous youtubers have filmed reaction videos to the app, but today I'm going to be telling you my opinion of the all knowing genie! To start with the game is very simple and easy to understand,  the genie asks you a few questions and you have to answer yes, no, don't know, probably, and definitely.  I do think that it does make the app more child friendly, and accessible by children! From my experience of using the app it has got it right 90% of the time. The first time you use the app its always quite fascinating, I spent ages wondering how it worked, until I wired it tout. After that I stopped using it and pretty much wasted 70p! At first the app was free, but it was then priced at 70p or something like that! to finish id like to say that it is good the app doesn't crash on me, and works smoothly. Its also a good conversation starter!

New Look:
I go to New Look very often, they have nice clothes for quite cheap prices! A lot of the items in my wardrobe are from new look. A lot of the latest trends, in shops like Topshop, and Urban Outfitters, are copied and made cheaper, but still have a descent amount of quality! I'm always happy with what I buy from new look, as I'm sure a lot of you guys are! I would love to hear your opinions on the topics I have covered today thanks for reading Ellagram. See you on Wednesday! http://www.newlook.com

Honest Review...

Topshop...

 Hello Again!

As you call tell by the title, this weeks honest review is of a very popular shop, Topshop. For me Topshop is the place to go for jeans, shorts, and one off tops and frilly socks, and if I'm honest there is a reason for that. I know that a lot of people shop at Topshop, and I'm not saying it's completely unaffordable, but it is at times over priced. I'm not saying that the clothes are bad, in fact I think that the clothes are very good quality, but certain things in my opinion are worth way less than they charge. Like I said with my Hollister review, Topshop is good for the one off, '' Oh but I earned it'' clothes, or maybe I'm just stingy! Some people can argue that Topshop is a trend setter, as far as I aware they were the first shop I know of that brought in the whole 70's style movement, (well the first one that I noticed!). Topshop does also have a wide variety of clothes in different styles to suit most people!

Whatever the case, I do overall think that they are a good company, with good clothes. Sorry that this honest review is so short! Thank you for reading Ellagram!

DIY Sunday...

Vintage Vibe Bunting

Hello guys, and welcome to another DIY Sunday blog! If I haven't already mentioned sundays will be dedicated to Crafts, and decoration ideas! Anyway for this weeks DIY Sunday, I will be making bunting for your room! As I said in my summer favourites blog, bunting can bring a real bright vintage vibe into any living space, but it doesn't have to be expensive!
For this DIY, you will need;
. Decorated paper,(I bought mine from the range).
.Scissors
.Strong glue!
.String
.A ruler,(optional)
.Additional decoration, (optional)
Fold your paper in half, and draw half of the shape you
want. Remember that you can also do heart shapes,
circles, anything your heart desires, but for this example,
I'm going to be using the classic triangle shape.

Carefully cut out your shape. Before you start making
more of these shapes, check that you like it be opening
it. Use that half to draw around when copying that shape,
continue to make them, but ensure that they are even!

Figure out how much string you'll need for your bunting,
and lay out your string on a table. Place you first shape with
the patterned face facing down.

Continue this process until you have your desired length of
bunting! I'd suggest leaving a gap about the length
of your thumb between each one! This is a picture
of one I made before. To make yours more
interesting try using different patterns of paper.
another way you can make yours more interesting,
is adding decoration like buttons to your papers!

As always thank you for reading Ellagram!  To finish, I'd like to leave some links to craft shops I go to!

How to Style...

High Waisted Shorts!

Hello There!

High Waisted shorts are seeming to be the staple of summer fashion this year, (if not high waisted jeans), so I decided for this blog I'll show you some ways I like to style my high waisted shorts! Just so you know i'm not a fashion designer, so don't judge!

My first outfit, is for a laid-back day with friends! I
normally wear this with my Grey Roche Runs.
I personally love wearing big chunky cardigans,
and if you live in the U.K, you'll understand that
summer here isn't always the warmest, so it's a
good idea to bring back up! I like wearing this with
a plain black tank, but you can be creative with your
colours! I also think the crystal necklace adds an
interesting touch!
Shorts

This idea is really simple and easy! I usually wear this outfit
when I want to relax a bit more. Tucking any tee into
high waisted shorts looks good, but personally I prefer when
the top is plain.  I really love the geekiness of this way
of wearing your high waisted shorts!

Now this outfit is very beachy! For a beach look, I
paired my high waisted shorts, with a long lace poncho
from Hollister.  I'd imagine wearing this with a
swimming costume underneath!
Poncho,( white sold out)
Shorts

For a more bright and flowery idea, I paired my shorts with
a yellow crop top, and a colourful kimono from Primark!

Okay, I know this outfit is really basic, but I love it
for relaxing or just being around your friends house.
I personally love layering cropped tops and sweaters, and
I'm obsessed with the alien badge!

So that's all I have for this blog, I hope you have found some inspiration! If you Enjoyed this blog, Feel free to comment, like and share on Facebook! As always thank you for reading Ellagram! If you haven't noticed, I have left all the links in the captions for the outfits in this blog!

Spring/Summer Favorites 2015

  Hi Guys!

As you know the hard work is over, the summer holidays have finally arrived, and you know what that means, (drumroll please), my Spring/Summer favourites! Over the past few weeks I have put together a small collection of items, and TV I've been loving lately! Get comfortable this could take a while!
I'm sorry but for me some spongebob never gets old! Its like a
Summer holiday tradition!
I have just finished watching the Breaking Bad series,
and I loved every second of it! The non stop suspense
has me itching for more! WARNING: If you start you can't
stop! If you have Netflix, you can watch the prequel
" Better call Saul".
If you are longing some Mystery, Drama, and Excitement
in your life PLL ,(Pretty Little Liars), is the show for you.
After the disappearance of their high school friend
Alison DiLorentis, an illusive figure has been following
their every move, blackmailing them into dangerous situations!
As they dig deeper into the situation, their past comes back to
get them, pretty girls, ugly truths!
Don't worry this is a no spoiler zone, watch it for yourself!

So it's summer, a time where we all have to go on that journey
to find the perfect summer shorts! Luckily in Topshop, I
found the perfect summer shorts for me! They are high waisted,
( a must have for me), and cut from Mom jeans. fitted on the top,
and looser on the thighs, so my legs don't explode out of them
when I sit! Check them out
Click here to go direct to product! Your welcome!
For me there is nothing like a icy cold ice tea on
a hot summer day! Wether it's Lipton or Arizona
they are always there to keep my hydrated and happy! I
just think that they have so much flavour, and are so refreshing

I can honestly say this cream is amazing! It has worked wonders
on my skin, I haven't had any spots since I have started to use it!
My skin is never blotchy and is always smooth and even!
The only downside, is that the moisturiser comes in a
small container, so I always run out. Other than that
*****/*****! Well worth the money! (sorry about the bad
quality, lighting was bad :( )
The whole range here!!!

Where do I start on this. Well I stole them off my Dad!
Other than that, I just think these glasses add such a
vintage vibe on any outfit I wear it with! I have been
wearing them non stop!
Summer is always a good time to go fun on your cases!
You won't have to hide it in your blazer pocket for a while
so why not go for something fun! The cactus phone case
is on sale at H&M so hurry!
Ice cream case.

In my opinion bunting is a perfect summer decoration in
any room! This bunting has brought so much light and life
into my room. Next week i'll post a DIY on bunting! When it's
released I'll leave the link below!

Recently in my town, there has been a big event in my
town centre. Annually at this time of year, there is an
international culture get together, where people set up
stalls and sell food, plants, clothes and jewellery from
all around the world. From bonsai trees, to paella they
have it! One of the stalls there was selling beautiful
crystals and native american goodies. I myself couldn't
resist buying this beautiful crystal necklace! It's a
brilliant summer piece and can see myself wearing this
a lot over the summer months!

As always thanks for reading Ellagram!

Bye Guys...

Caci Care, and Terrarium making...

Caring for your Cactus...

Sometimes I find it extremely daunting when you are faced with all the complicated mess that google tells you, but not anymore! For todays blog, I will be telling you the truth about looking after cactus! REMEMBER: I'm not a professional, I'm just speaking from my own experience.

1. Do not over water- cacti are a dessert dwelling plant that have evolved to survive weeks to months without water. I would recommend watering them every 3-4 weeks. If over watered they can develop root rot, (a fungal infection of the roots).

2. Sunshine- obviously, you will need to keep your cacti in an area where it will get plenty of light. Like I already mentioned you will need to simulate dessert life. Try to keep them warm, if you can't they will survive, but won't be as healthy.

I hope this has simplified the whole cacti situation!!!

Terrariums...

Terrariums are a brilliant way to decorate your rooms. They add a whole new ecosystem contained within beautiful glass jars and containers! But despite the seeming expensive prices online, you can make your own for a surprisingly cheep price! As part two of my blog today, I will be giving you step by step instructions of terrarium making!

1. Getting it together- Before you start creating your terrarium, there are a few items you will need to gather:
. soil, (from your garden, or special cactus soil)
. gravel, ( I got mine from pets at home, but you can also find this in your garden)
. cacti/cactus
. a Jar or terrarium, ( I got mine from urban outfitters, and Sainsburys)
. protective gloves, (optional)

You can get all these items for relatively cheep prices, if you choose to reduce the cost, go for a large jar, I got a large mason jar on sale at Wilko. I will leave links at the end of the article if you are interested.

2. To start making your terrarium, you all need to lay a layer or gravel at the bottom of your container. This layer should be around a few inches thick, but does widely depend on your container.

3. Put a layer of GRITTY soil on the top of the gravel layer. If you can't find any gritty soil, try mixing leftover gravel into the soil.

4. Remove you cacti/ cactus from there pots. Usually this process is easy, because they are really dry anyway. if you are having difficulty, try squeezing the sides of the pot all the way around and it should eventually pop out!

5. Dig a deep hole into the soil, (big enough for the root, and bury the roots of the plant)

6. If you would like you cactus to look more interesting try adding rocks on top of the soil, or toy animals, like the urban outfitters terrariums! If this hasn't helped i'd recommend just googling it! I will leave some links to inspiration below!

This was my first terrarium, I purchased the jar
from Wilko,(link bellow), and the cactus from there too!

A few of my cactus, and succulents! The terrarium I bought
isn't completed yet. It cost £20 from sainsburys.

Honest Review

Hollister...

Hello Guys!

Every Monday I will be uploading reviews on food, products, shops, and websites. As you can guess, I will be being  as honest as I can be about all of the " things"  I review. To kick off the series I will be starting with a shop that is a personal favourite of mine, Hollister! Hollister, as you may know, is a californian clothing brand that is inspired by "so cal" fashion, which is based on laid back californian style, commonly associated with the beach, and surfers! Now lets talk about price.
Hollister is quite expensive, and honestly in some cases can seem over priced. If you are looking for a one in a while treat Hollister is the place to go! The clothing is high quality, and in my opinion very comfortable, and nicely fitted. All clothing items I have purchased from Hollister were £30-£40, meaning that I don't shop there very often. Unfortunatly in the U.K here aren't many Hollisters around for me to enjoy, so if I'm travelling to say London or Birmingham, I would pop in, which as I said isn't often.
Now moving on I want to talk about delivery prices, the online website and app. The Hollister website is a very nicely designed website and does capture the essence of laid back California style , but it's the app I mainly want to talk about! From my experience, I can say that the app is a very good way for you to help find styles of clothing that you like, and gives you an easy way to find inspiration. the "so cal stylists", post seasonly videos, showing you how to style clothes you already have, and give you outfit ideas out of Hollister clothes. As far as I'm aware there aren't any other shops that do this and I think its a great way to help you find your "so cal style"! Another fun feature of the app is the "style quiz", which is a good bit of fun! The downside really of ordering online are the delivery fees. To ship to the UK, its costs £10. Of coarse I'm not taking into account the special offers or the " spend £50 and get free delivery", but I just think that it's too much, especially if your just buying a tee!

I would like to conclude by saying that I have nothing against Hollister, and on the whole I think that they are a good clothing brand!

Thanks for reading Ellagram!

Re-Visit next week for another Honest Review!!!

My Current Obsession...

Hello again!

For todays blog, I'll be posting about a strange little habit of mine, cacti collecting. I honestly don't know what it is about the prickly little plants that makes them so adorable! I have currently collected around 18 of them. These plants are perfect for a bit of summer re-decorating, and if your one of those people who have a hard time remembering to water your plants, cactus are perfect plants for you. Here are my favourite cactus, hope you enjoy!
I bought this cacti from Aldi, for about £2
including the pot. Considering that the
plant itself seems to be in good health,
I think thats a fair price.
Tip: Cacti is singular, ( so one cacti), and cactus is plural,
(multiple cactus). I get mixed up all the time too. I purchased this
beautiful cactus at my local flower shop.
As you will soon notice I bought a lot of my cactus
from my local flower shop. This cacti was the first I bought,
and I adore it! All the cactus I have bought from there,
are in good health, and I got great advice of how to care for them!

This Cacti is another that I have purchased
from my local flower shop, all the small cacti were
around £3, or two for £5, which I think is descent price.
.

I hope this post has gave you more of an insight on cactus! Next sunday I will write another post about cactus terrariums, and cacti care. If you are wondering where to buy cactus, I'd recommend looking in flower shops, they will probably be healthier, and if you ask a florist, I'm sure they can help you with the whole cacti care thing! If you are short of Florists, there are trio packs of cactus being sold at, Asda, Wilko, and Ikea, but the health of the plants from Asda and Wilko are quite bad, but I have never owned any ikea cactus, so I wouldn't have a clue! Remember to read my best friends blog, at www.allyography.blogspot.co.uk, she has a brilliant article on our summer bucket list! Thanks for reading Ellagram, don't forget to tune in regularly for updates!
