Autumn Favourites

Hello There!

Welcome to another favourites post! I have been collecting a lot of my favourite things, for you to try and enjoy!

I bet you didn't see this one coming...
The other day when I was in town, I was told about these
beautiful arrangements of Cactus! So being that this is me who
were talking about, I naturally had to go investigate.
I now have three more cacti!
Shop: http://www.flowerworks.co.uk
Price: £6.99
I personally don't go to Starbucks too often, I'm
never too happy spending £3.60 odd for
a small drink. But anyway I went the other day,
and my heart stopped when I saw the new cups. Everything
I love about autumn, is somehow summed up in this
cup.
Shop:http://www.starbucks.co.uk(obviously)
Price: depends
This background.
Ps: I got it off Pinterest, just search autumn phone backgrounds
I haven't been using coconut oil for too long, but so far it has
been really good. My skin is noticeably softer and
it makes a nourishing hair mask. The only
thing i would say that isn't so good about it, is
obviously very greasy, and takes a while to seep into your
skin. Another coconut trend, seems to be
coconut water, and I saw this "drinking coconut" in
Tescos the other day. It was scary trying to break into but the
water inside, ( I'm my opinion), was lovely. It
reminded me of that ideal holiday in a
tropical destination, with someone sitting by the beach
sipping a coconut!
Shop: Most health shops.
Price: Depends where you go.
I have had my eye on this jumper as soon as it came out, and
I'm so happy I have it. The colour just reminds me of
autumn leafs!
Shop:http://www.hm.com/gb/search/#!/products?q=divided
price: £6.99
Three Words. Comfy, Baggy, Jumper. I bought this top
a small while ago when I was away, and it's so comfortable,
and I love the whole style, and the writing. Just wanted to
point out how horrible it is taking pictures of me, I took
this in the park, and everyone was staring at me, and I'm
terrible at posing.
Shop:http://www.pullandbear.com/gb/en/
Price: £19.99
As you can see cozy jumpers, and things are a recurring
theme, but I had to, It's one of my favourites!
I bought this from H&M last year, but I bought it before the
summer so I didn't have much wear out of it, until now.

Finally there is just one more thing I'd like to mention, which is the volume 1 seconde mascara, by Bourjois Paris. This mascara works really well, and i get a huge boost of length and volume when I use it. The other day, A friend asked me if my eyelashes were fake, I'm not sure if I should be flattered or offended, but whatever the case, I'm not going to deny, that this is a great product, and I'd recommend it. I bought mine from boots for £9.99, but I'm sure you can buy it from most beauty and makeup shops.

One final, final thing I'd like to say, is that I am thinking about writing a series of stories, and posting them to my blog. If that is something you'd be interested in please leave a comment!

Thank you for reading Ellagram!

Craft Fails//Scorch Trials Review

Greetings,
For todays blog, I will be discussing two different subjects, to make up for the blogs I didn't do, but I'd like to start with my craft fails...

I'm sure most people will understand the disappointment you feel after you work hard on something, and it completely fails. Pinterest sets my standards too high, and I tried to make this decorated plant pot thing...and it didn't really work so anyway here we go...

So the idea of this was to decorate these plain plant pots, with really
nice paper, to make them look all fancy. In theory a brilliant idea,
in reality it was a nightmare! I didn't take into consideration, that the
plant pots slowly get smaller in radius towards the bottom, so when
I tried to wrap paper around it, it flopped. Another thing that
became evidently clear, as I worked on this, it that I just cant cut
strait, all of my lines were, well, all over the place!
The idea.

I'm not too sure where this is going with this idea, but the
moral of the story, is that you cant be perfect all the time, and not
everything you do will be perfect. If you want to get it perfect you have
to make mistakes.
On the plus side I made a bookmark out of the scrap paper.
For the scraps of your failures come ideas. My new life quote.
A wannbe craft post, becomes a fortune cookie message.
Only on Ellagram.

Scorch Trials Review...

Over the weekend, I went to go see the next film in the Maze Runner series, The Scorch Trials, and decided to write up a
review for it. I would like to start by saying that I enjoyed the film, It was everything I expected the film to be, fast paced, thrilling, and on the whole entertaining. One thing I would like to say about the film, is that I like how it is a completely different story to the first one, and that it doesn't have a copied script from the last film. One thing that I think was a slight problem is, that it is nothing new. Of coarse, is its own franchise, and respect that, but I have seen a lot of films like it, like The Hunger Games, and Divergent. I'm not saying that these movies are bad, but I think that they are all the same, an I'd love to see a new idea brought to cinema. I think that after the Hunger Games' success, other film makers saw a lot of money making opportunity, in making other films based of books like it, a ''cash grab'' if you will. More on the topic though, I have heard that the film, isn't at all like the book, but I'm not all that sure, because I haven't read the book yet. Please stop judging me. I think that it is important that the movies stay true to their source materials, because I think that for people who have read the books, it's disappointing to see all the aspects you loved from the book exclude from the film. However, on the whole based on the movie itself, I'd give this movie 4/5.

Thanks' for reading Ellagram, and as always, bye for now.

Autumn Is Coming...

Hey Again!

I would just like to start by saying sorry that I haven't posted in a while, I was really busy with back to school, and i was away in London for a while too, so I haven't had too much time to sit down and write a blog. Another thing I wanted to mention, is that I will be reducing my posts to about two a week, so I think that instead of having Honest Reviews, Wednesday Blogs, and DIY Sunday every week, I'll have them go Honest reviews one week, then next week DIY Sundays ect.

Anyway for this weeks blog, I'm going to show you some of my favourite things about Autumn, since it's rapidly approaching. I have noticed that everyone has talked about back to school, and how it's so terrible, and I thought lets look at the positive side of Autumn.

Scented Candles...Perfection!
One of the things I love about the cold, is that you can wear
woolly jumpers again. I know it's far from christmas, but
this retro christmas has been my life for 3 Christmases running.
I have had it for ages so...it's more of a tradition now!
One of the things most people love about the cold,
is the idea of being cosy and warm by the fireplace.
I think I took it to the next level this year! I know
my legs are really pale and bumpy, and purple, but
I'm so happy I got these socks, they took so long to get
here. They are honestly my life atm!

I know they are really geeky, but I love them so much!
The colour just reminds me of Autumn leafs, and they
go so well with my jumpers!

I don't know about you, but don't you think a steamy
hot tea is just the perfect way to get settled after a tiring,
cold day. I have recently been obsessing over green tea, I
have to have a cup in the morning and one at night.
Like I said earlier about cosy things. Shoutout to Auntie
Bernie for knitting this blanket, it's amazing!
Looking up autumn pictures on Pinterest, is probably my
favourite thing to do atm!

I know i'm a teenager now, but teddy bears.
This is Mr Shark,(I'm very creative with names),
and he is just perfect to cuddle.
I forgot to mention halloween, but yes halloween is one of my favourite things about Autumn too. Im already planning what to wear! Thank you for reading Ellagram! Whats your favourite thing about autumn?

Top Ten Ways To...

Decorate your room...

Hello again guys!
So, if you know me, you'll know I love decorating my room, so I put together some tips to help organise your room, and make it brighter!

My first tip, is to add life to your room, by bringing
plants into your room. Being me I stuffed my room with
cactus! I put them in this green house from Ikea!
Bunting, and fairy lights can make rooms look so much
better, by adding a cute vintage vibe!

I made a small cactus pot thing, i don't know where I got this
idea, but I bought a bowl from TKmax, and planted a
cacti in it! I just think that this bowl is so cute!
Im not too sure what I was thinking with the dinosaur to be
honest, but I actually think that it's really cool, I
made this felt ball coster. Adding small items that have bright
colours it can make a room feel so much fresher.
Okay, this one is very obvious, but making
you bed does make such a difference when
it comes to keeping your room looking
tidy! Try getting a brightly coloured
floral duvet, mine is a lot brighter that the
one in this picture. I love the duvets in
TKmax but they don't last long so keep
an eye out! Another thing I'd say, is open your
blinds the best way to brighten up your room
is with natural sunlight.

If your like me and you have a lot of junk, that you just leave
around your room, I'd recommend getting some cute boxes,
and storing them that way. It also helps keep things organised,
so you could have say one box for hats, one for old clothes!
Its really easy to make the most of the space in your room,
 by keeping it tidy!

Honest Review...

Brandy Melville...

Hello Guys!

For this weeks honest review I'm going to be reviewing Brandy Melville. I love their clothes, if you have ever owned any Brandy Melville clothes you'll know how soft they are! The clothes are very comfortable, and they do generally fall nicely on people. If your looking for colour on your clothes, you wont find it here. There colour theme is more or less grey white, and brown.
Obviously brandy Melville is aimed at teenagers, and young adults, so they make there clothes one size fits all. Here's my problem though. All girls are different, some people are taller some are smaller, some are curvier, and others are aren't.  So the ''one size fits most policy'', doesn't work for everyone''. Here's the problem. Body image has been a big problem for young women, a lot of girls are worrying about how ''fat'' they are or ''skinny'' they are, and If they don't fit into these clothes, how is this going to make people feel, like they are too fat or too skinny? '' If I don't fit into these clothes, I,m not normal, is there something wrong with me''. With problems like bulimia, and depression in young girls, I don't think it helps that they don't consider what affect this can have on girls. I'm going to be honest, I had an experience like this myself. I was looking at these jeans that everyone was wearing, so I tried them on, and they just look so bad on me. I know it sounds way over dramatic but I was about crying, I thought I wasn't normal. I just felt so unconfident. When I got home I talked to my mum about it, and we went out together. I returned them, and tried some different styles, and  I found one that suited me, and surprise, surprise,  I actually looked good on me. So my advice is find clothes that fit you, don't wear what everyone else is wearing, and be confident with who you are! On top of that I had money left over so I bought a top from urban outfitters!

But I do still love their clothes, regarding shipping, and ordering online, I have heard from a lot of people that it's really bad, and they struggled with trying to get refunds, so just stick to the shops!

Thanks for reading Ellagram!

bye for now!

DIY Sunday...

Polaroid Picture String

Hello Guys!

For this weeks DIY Sunday, I decided to do a DIY that I have been seeing all over the internet recently, A polaroid string thing! But you may be saying, "everybody's done that", so I have added my own twist on the idea, that I hope you will enjoy! This DIY is brilliant as decor, it can bring so much brightness, and personality to a room.  I would just like to add that you can do this DIY with any pictures, so it's perfect for anyone!
For this DIY, you will need...
.White card or paper.
.Vibrant colouring pencils, markers, or felt tips.
(note that when using markers, ink can bleed through
the page. Use something to protect your work surface!)

. String of your desired length.
.Tape, (you can also use glue)
Firstly, draw out your polaroid picture shape. It doesn't have
to be perfect, having odd lines can give your design a
unique, and personal touch, but if you prefer realistic and
strait lines, that too can say something about you
personally! I wanted to add a lot of my personality
into what I designed, by using odd lines on each of my
designs, I wanted to reflect how not everything has to be
perfect for something to be good, if that makes any sense!
Next, draw whatever you want inside your box, I chose
the draw cactus inside my boxes, just because I love them!
You can do whatever you want with your boxes, maybe
write quotes, stick in pictures of your friends, or
draw something that is a different aspect of your
personality in each boxIf you are happy with your
image being black and white, Leave it as it is.
Once you have what you want in your box, cut out your
picture, so you can use it as on outline for your other pictures!

Here are my drawings, I myself am not the best at drawing,
so I kept the design ideas simple!I tried to pack
in as many vibrant colours as I could, to give it a
bright cheery feel. I also tried to include some interesting
angles, to keep it from looking basic!
When you are happy with your pictures, carefully cut out
 the shapes.

Place the now cut out shapes upside down under the string,
and tape the string to your shape. If you don't have
tape, cover a piece if paper in glue, and place
it over the string, and rub it into the paper.
When repeating this step, ensure that you place
your pictures evenly apart. To do this, I
use the length of my pinky finger, to measure the
distance between them.

Finally when you are finished, you can tape, nail, or
blutac your string to your wall!

I myself love how this turned out! It is a very bold and bright
decoration that reflects my personality! The best thing about
this is that there are so many things you can do with this idea!

As always thank you for reading Ellagram! If you enjoyed this blog please feel free to share it, and comment. I'd love to see any of your interpretations, so please send then to me via instagram, @whatthewifi!

Scariest Things Tag...

Hello Again,

So for todays blog, I decided to do something different, a Scariest things tag. I didn't get tagged to do this but it just seems interesting!

1. Scariest real life experience?
I guess it's not that scary, but it was at the time. I was going to the park with my Mum and sister when I was younger, and my Mum sent me and my sister to get some drinks, at the Tesco down the road. On the way back, this weird man tried to grab my hand, and I pulled away. I met him again at the traffic lights, he kept hussling me saying that he needs to cross with me. It was a red man so I said no. He crossed and waited at the other side. I grabbed my sisters hand tighter, and told her that when we get to the other side, we need to run to Mum. When I got to the other side, I thought that he went away so I walked up normally, until I notice him, walking across from us. When we sped up, he did, when we slowed down, he did. Then I really started to panic, so I grabbed my sisters arm, and I ran for the hills,(my Mum). He want away after that.

2.Scariest paranormal experience?
To be honest I have never really had too many scary experiences, there are two experiences. I was at my Dads old house, and I stayed up late down stairs watching TV. At this time I assumed everyone else was in bed. I myself am very sceptical about the existence of ghosts, still to this day I don't know if what I saw was real but, I heard a loud crash outside the door, and at that moment, I thought someone was there. I thought I saw a dark figure move into the other room. I brushed it off and assumed that I was being an idiot, as you do, but then I heard it again, about a few minutes later. I saw the dark figure again. Being the paranoid person I am, I went to check the room, and made sure the doors were locked. I don't know if you can relate to me, but you know when you have to turn off the last light, and you sprint up the stairs like Bolt. That was me. I went to bed and never really made more of it. The creepiest part is that my bedroom was at the end of this really long hall with the press door at the end. I hated leaving the door open, because I always felt like I was being watched, but the light in my room was too bright so I left the hall light on. The next morning I tried to tell my Dad what happened, but he told me not to speak about. When we moved house, my Dad told me that he experienced strange happenings as well, and that's why he decided to move out.

3. Have you ever known anyone convicted of a violent crime?
No, but have you ever wondered how many killers you have walked past in the street? I know It sounds creepy, but there are people who aren't locked up for murder, you might have even shook hands with a killer. Think about that for a moment...

4. Are you afraid of the dark? Why/why not
Yes. I am scared of the dark, mainly because everything creepy happens in the dark. The fact that you can't see anything makes things all the more scary, that even if there wasn't anything, how would you know? You wouldn't. I get the feeling of defencelessness. I know I sound paranoid, It's likely to be scary movies if I'm honest.

5. Does your town have any scary stories or Legends?
There are a few scary stories that I know, but the Abbey Pumping Station story. It basically goes like this. One day, a worker was working late, finishing off  cleaning on the highest level. Slipping on his own mopping, he slipped and fell to the bottom story. People who work there say that they hear his screams at night. Some workers refuse to work the late shifts.

6. What is your favourite Urban Legend?
I love urban legends and scary stories, but my favourite is the Humans can lick too story. Here's how the story goes. An old woman has trouble sleeping at night, so before she goes to sleep she needs her get dog to lick her hand, (her dog sleeps under the bed). So she puts her hand, and gets a lick from her dog, and goes to sleep. She is woken up at night with the sound of dripping in the bathroom, so she goes to check the bathroom, and makes sure all the taps are closed. She goes back to bed, and puts her hand under the bed. She feels the lick and goes to sleep. An hour later she hears the dripping again, this time she checks the bathroom down stairs. When she opens the door, she is met by the horrific sight of her dog dripping with blood in the shower. Turning around, she reads the writing on the wall smeared in blood, '' humans can lick too''. I love how simple yet terrifying this story is, and I don't sleep with my hand hanging over the bed anymore.

Thank you for reading Ellagram! If you enjoyed this post, please share! I would like to ask www.allyography.blogspot.co.uk to do this tag!

Sleep Tight
